"The best way to preview the future is TO CREATE IT"
Hello Tomorrow is a French non-governmental organization, dedicated to deep tech start-ups. Each year, the NGO organizes the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge, a start-up global challenge specially made for deep tech entrepreneurs among several industries. This challenge has been created in 2013 by two french PhD students, Xavier Duportet and Arnaud De La Tour reaching the conclusion that the resources needed to propel emerging technologies were different from those of traditional web and mobile innovation. The Challenge gives scientists and deeptech entrepreneurs around the globe a platform for their research and projects, providing participants with equity-free funding, global visibility and connections with key players in the deeptech innovation network and other fellow entrepreneurs. Every year, hundreds of startups take part to this challenge, and only 500 are selected by Hello Tomorrow to attend the Summit, as well as the Investor Day to meet and convince investors.
To allow investors and attendees to access the list of selected startups, Hello Tomorrow hired Boot-Start to develop the whole online platform. The platform presents a categorization of startups according to their industries, their technologies, their geographic area, the product type (physical product, software, service, etc.), their customer focus (B2B, B2C, B2G, etc.) as well as the team size or the funding. This system allows users to precise their research by selecting several criteria. For each startup, the platform references an very detailed explanatory index card, on which one can find every information on the company and its project. Therefore, one can inquires about the problem spotted by the startup and how it intends to solve it, as well as every fundamental information about the enterprise (market, business model, funding, etc.). Consequently, Boot-Start developed an online platform and database able to reference all these information.
